NATIONAL READING DAY

National Reading Day. On 25th September 2018, Worldreader organised a day event to commemorate National Reading Day at British Council. The event was supported by the Ministry of Education (Republic of Ghana), as well as local and international stakeholders working in the education sector especially in the area of reading. The chairperson, Naa Korkor Aadzieoyi I, Queenmother of Adabaraka, expressed the need for traditional leaders to visit schools in their community to encourage the children to learn and read books. She has visited schools in the past and knows it helps the children. She talked about how reading improves discipline and memory. Studies show if you don't read often, it becomes extremely difficult to recall facts you have read. She talked about her current Read for Me project with Ama Atta Aidoo creative writing center. Sedinam Awo Tsegah. Sedinam was born in May, 1992 in Accra, Ghana. She studied Visual Art at Wesley Girls’ High School in Cape Coast and continued to study BA Communication Design at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi. Her works are noted as a kind of renaissance within the young Ghanaian art scene, encapsulating the design, communication and aesthetic elements of the past and future. The Hair Event 2018 The International Academy of Cosmetology (TIAC), which aims to create an opportunity for beauty therapist to reach their maximum potential through constant updates and enhancement, staged a three day maiden edition hair event at Best Western Hotel located at the airport. AFRICAN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATIONS ORGANISES CAREER COURSE

African University College of Communications Organises Career Course. The Welfare Committeee of the Student's Representative Council of the African University College of Communication (AUCC) has organised a one day career orientation course for students. The event which was held on Thursday 20th September at the auditorium of the University College was aimed at orienting both freshmen/ fresh women and continuing students on the skills required to succeed in the job market. The seminar focussed on the future career paths available to students the four course speciality areas offered by AUCC: Journalism, Strategic Communication, Development Communication and Visual Communication. The Queen mother of Adabraka Atukpai Sub-stool, Naa Korkor Aadzieoyi 1 thanked Stratcomm Ghana for continuing their innovative way of creating awareness among Ghanaians about the environment and health benefits of horticulture and floriculture especially in the Ga communities. GHANA To The Global  Dr. Emmanuel Osei Akyeampong a lecturer at African University College of Communications is yet to make history with his book LEADERSHIP INFLUENCE. I quote, from the author "Leadership is a product of several factors, the most significant of which is influence. But the question is how can leaders identity the proper way to direct others? How can they be sure that they are operating along the right path?" His book will provide answers to the above questions by highlighting key topics. 'EYE OPENER' EVENT HELD AT LAGOS AVENUE

'Eye Opener' Event Held At Lagos Avenue. A Health Outreach night with the sexy and cute ladies on Lagos Avenue Street was held on Friday 7th September 2018. This was an eye opener and amazing experience. The 'Eye opener' outreach event was carried out by STass Ghana, a charity organization that provides support for People Living with HIV, hepatitis and mental health illness through creating awareness with a aim of reducing stigma. At the event, staff and volunteers of STass Ghana carried out desensitization on HIV/AIDS and mental health, shared condoms and HIV quick testing among the participants. The event that lasted for 6 hours brought smiles to the faces of volunteers, commercial sex workers, as well as their clients and the members of the public that patronised the event. The night workers shared their stories on HIV, intimating their believe that the syndrome is real, as such they always insist on their clients to use condoms. They thanked STass Ghana for

OPEN DAY AT ADABRAKA POLYCLINIC

Adabraka Polyclinic one of the primary health delivery and a main place to receive immunizations for foreign travel,  had an open day of the clinic yesterday to meet stakeholders within the community and it's surrounding area. The event had special guests from health sectors, a representative from the MP of Osu Korley-klottey, Assemblymen, market women executives, staff of Adabraka Polyclinic and The Queenmother of Adabraka Naa Korkor Aadizeoyi 1 as the chair of the event. The event was hosted by Dr. Selorm Botwe, public health specialist and Director of Health, Osu Kottey sub-metro. The Chairperson, Naa Korkor Aadzieoyi 1 was amazed at the dental unit and the development of the clinic after a familiarisation tour of facilities.  She warmly thanked the director and staff for the good work done and encouraged them to continue doing their best.  She will donate some bed sheets to the clinic and will engage the executives of the markets within Adabraka to support the clinic as
