NUGS HONORS FARMERS ON THE OCCASION OF NATIONAL FARMERS DAY, URGES GOVERNMENT TO CONTINUE SUPPORTING THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR.

*Official Release* Fri, Dec 7 🇦🇹🇬🇭🇦🇹🇬🇭🇦🇹🇬🇭🇦🇹🇬🇭 NUGS HONORS FARMERS ON THE OCCASION OF NATIONAL FARMERS DAY, URGES GOVERNMENT TO CONTINUE SUPPORTING THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR. The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) wishes to on this day convey this message in honor of all farmers in Ghana, "whose toil on a daily basis, feeds us, keeps us alive, and plays an important role towards the development of our country". Ghana, with a total land area of 23.9million hectares has about 57% of it suitable for agriculture, and with 60% of her labour force engaged in this sector. It is a fact, that, this sector has the "potential to develop into a multi billion dollar industry" which would be the propeller of national development. However, the challenges facing this sector seem to far outweigh the strengths therefore impeding the progress expected.
