GUPS STANDS IN FELLOWSHIP WITH THE STUDENTS' REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL OF GHANA INSTITUTE OF JOURNALISM.

The attention of the Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) is drawn to an unpleasant treatment meted to colleague professional students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ). We, national executive body of the aforementioned union has outrightly condemned the incidence even as we take necessary steps to help the Students' Representative Council and other student blocs to amicably mediate the peace process.

We, the union of professionals, solemnly hold a firm and preserved determination to committing ourselves to the common good of all and ensuring that members of our union are treated with the utmost respect and dignity deserved.

We are pleased to inform fellow professionals that, whatever reasons both within and without our knowledge which triggered colleague professional students to demonstrate have been amicably considered by the administrative machinery of GIJ and the SRC. Students are thus entreated to stay calm as much as possible as finality of the situation at hand is reached.

The leadership of GUPS would like to take this opportunity to applaud the Students' Representative Council of Ghana Institute of Journalism for their effortless defense of colleague students. We also assure them of a continued support and active involvement of GUPS in all the negotiation and mediation processes till matters are fully resolved and brought back to normalcy.

GUPS! THE UNION!
GUPS! THE PROFESSIONALS!!
